Student employees to receive recognition

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – In appreciation of their efforts on the job as well as in the classroom, student employees will be recognized by the Division of Financial Aid at Purdue University on April 13-19 during National Student Employment Week.

The National Student Employment Association and Student Employment Services in the Division of Financial Aid encourage employers to thank their student employees that week. Student employees in the Division of Financial Aid will receive a certificate of appreciation for their contributions.

Joyce Hall, executive director of financial aid at Purdue, says both student employees and employers receive many benefits from working together.

"Hiring students is a win-win situation for both the employer and the student," Hall says. "Students can utilize the experience of work to enhance their knowledge and to learn important skills that will help them in their future career endeavors. The earnings also offset college costs. In return, employers get highly motivated workers who can assist in meeting the service requirements, production demands or other goals of their department or business."
