'WBAA Town Forum' to focus on conflict with Iraq

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The potential war with Iraq will be the focus of discussion at 7 p.m. Thursday (2/27) when WBAA resumes its broadcasting of the "WBAA Town Forum."

The show will be broadcast live from Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 2323 Sagamore Parkway, Lafayette. Among the panelists are Harry Targ, Purdue political science professor and director of the Peace Studies program; George Horwich, Purdue professor emeritus in economics; and Will Miller, minister and counselor.

David Bunte, WBAA-AM program director, says listeners will be able to share their thoughts on what the war could mean at home and abroad.

"This forum is designed to allow listeners to join the discussion of the possibility of war with Iraq," Bunte says. "We sincerely hope many in our community will take advantage of this opportunity. We also hope that in the process listeners will gain insight on how the war could impact people's everyday lives in the United States."

The public can come to Barnes & Noble to be part of the show's audience and ask questions. Listeners can phone in comments and questions at (765) 496-1999 or toll-free at (866) 922-2101 if they live outside the local calling area. The program can be heard at 101.3 FM and AM 920. WBAA also can be heard on the Web.
