February 18, 2003 Purdue president to discuss state funding on next radio show WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University President Martin C. Jischke will provide an update on state funding for higher education during his live call-in radio show on WBAA’s "AM 920 Magazine" from 2-3 p.m. , Wednesday (3/5). Dan Skinner, WBAA manager, said listeners can talk directly with the president about state funding, which decreased last year due to budget cuts. "President Jischke is well aware of today’s precarious economic climate," Skinner said. "However, the president sees state funding for higher education as a long-term investment that is critical to the future of the state economy. He maintains that one way to improve the state fiscal situation is to retain and increase the number of high-tech jobs in Indiana. Purdue plays a key role in that process."
