String Cheese Incident to play Elliott Hall

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – String Cheese Incident is making its first visit to Purdue University to perform their blended bluegrass, reggae, jazz and rock sound. The concert will at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, in the Elliott Hall of Music.

Purdue students may sign up for early purchase times through SSINFO. The times for sign up are 10 a.m. Saturday (2/15) through noon Tuesday (2/18). Students should go to SSINFO and click on "Student Life" and then "How SCC CTT Works."

Purdue faculty and staff who would like to sign up for an early purchase time should do so during the same time period through the Purdue Convocations Web site.

When the sign up period ends, all students will be assigned a time during which they may purchase tickets at the Elliott Hall box office. Early purchase times will be posted on SSINFO by 10 a.m. Wednesday (2/19). Faculty and staff ticket times will be posted on the Convocations Web site at the same time.

Early campus sales will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday (2/21) only at the Elliott Hall box office. This is open only to students who signed up on SSINFO and to faculty and staff who sign up at the Convocations Web site. Students, faculty and staff must bring their ID to buy tickets on Friday. Ticket buyers may not bring someone else's ID and purchase for them. Cash, check and credit cards will be accepted.

Public sales through campus box offices and Ticketmaster begins at 2 p.m. on Friday (2/21) 21.

For additional opportunities to purchase tickets, fans may visit the String Cheese Incident Web site.

The String Cheese Incident formed in 1993 in Crested Butte, Colo. The people of Colorado quickly became devoted fans and a cultlike following began to form, reminiscent of the storied fans of the Grateful Dead.

The String Cheese Incident is made up of mandolinist/fiddler Michael Kang, acoustic guitarist Bill Nershi, bassist Keith Moseley, keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth and drummer Michael Travis.

The band strives to inspire creativity and freedom in their audience while their own musical expression is influenced by their fans' spirit and contributions to the String Cheese community.
