Purdue expands, markets Speakers Bureau

Purdue University is expanding its Speakers Bureau, which pairs faculty and staff with community groups, schools and other organizations looking for guest speakers.

"Purdue faculty and staff have a long tradition of sharing their expertise with the public," said Purdue President Martin C. Jischke. "As part of the university's engagement effort, we're reaching out to groups that need Purdue speakers so that our faculty and staff not only can share their expertise, but also listen and learn from the residents of Indiana."

Joseph L. Bennett, who as vice president for university relations oversees the effort, said, "My staff will be contacting thousands of organizations, asking if we can help locate speakers for their upcoming events."

Groups also may contact the Speakers Bureau at lksoule@purdue.edu or call (765) 494-2082. A searchable roster of available speakers is available on the Web.
