Purdue's literary journal sponsors writing workshopsWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Staff members for Purdue University's literary journal "Sycamore Review" have teamed up with the Purdue English department and the Tippecanoe Country Public Library to offer free writing classes for adults and children.The first Looseleaf Writing Workshop, entitled "Word Paintings," will take place from 2-3 p.m. Sunday (1/26) at the Tippecanoe County Public Library. Donald Platt, associate professor of poetry at Purdue, will instruct adults on art-inspired writing. Future class dates and topics include: Workshops also are being planned for March and April.
