PMO Christmas Show to be broadcast on public television stations

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University Musical Organizations is releasing a one-hour tape of its 2001 Christmas Show to Public Broadcasting Service television stations throughout the United States.

The show features more than 200 students from the five PMO ensembles, including the Purdue Varsity Glee Club, the Purduettes, PMO Express, the University Choir and the Bell Choir. A Norman Rockwell theme provides the backdrop for songs such as "Home for the Holidays," "I'm Gonna E-mail Santa," "Old Fashioned Christmas," "When Love Came Down" and "A Celtic Christmas Medley," arranged by Chicago composer and musician Gary Fry.

Brian Breed, PMO director, oversees each Christmas Show. Julie Ricciardi, PMO Club director, says Breed's talents and vision always result in a memorable performance.

"Brian Breed lives the PMO motto: 'No fun without music, no music without fun,'" Ricciardi says. "He pursues excellence in every endeavor and encourages his students to aim and achieve at the highest level as well."

To find out if the Christmas Show is being broadcast in your area, visit the PMO Web site or call the nearest PBS station for broadcast dates and times.
