December 2, 2002 Broadway tap dancer to offer free class at PurdueWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. The only female tap dancer and dance captain in "Riverdance On Broadway" will conduct a master dance class on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Purdue University. Karen Callaway Williams will begin the class at 6:30 p.m. in the Purdue Memorial Union North Ballroom. A professional dance instructor, Williams has taught at several schools, dance academies and camps. Williams' other Broadway credits include the Duke Ellington musical "Play On." She also performed with the Silver Belles at the Cotton Club and the Apollo Theatre and served as the lone female tap dancer in "The Majesty of Tap" at the Lincoln Center. Other Lincoln Center productions in which Williams has appeared include "Story Tellington" and "Yankee Doodle Boys."
