Pep rally to set stage for Duel in the Dome

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Boilermaker fans and friends are invited to join in a free Discover Purdue event at the Indiana Convention Center before the Purdue-Indiana doubleheader basketball games on Dec. 14.

The Duel in the Dome features the Purdue women's basketball team against the Indiana women's basketball team at 5 p.m. in the RCA Dome. That will be followed at 8 p.m. by the men's basketball game between the Boilermakers and the Hoosiers.

A Discover Purdue event and pep rally is planned for the afternoon in the Indiana Convention Center adjacent to the RCA Dome. The program is jointly sponsored by Intercollegiate Athletics, Purdue Alumni Association and the University Advancement Office.

Festivities will begin at 3 p.m. in the Serpentine Lobby and Sagamore Ballroom 2 on the second floor of the Convention Center.

Displays will be set up by the Schools of Engineering, the Purdue Alumni Association, John Purdue Club, President's Council, Purdue Musical Organizations and Intercollegiate Athletics, among others.

A pep rally is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. with appearances planned by Morgan Burke, director of intercollegiate athletics; Gene Keady, men's basketball coach; President Martin Jischke; Larry Preo, executive director of the alumni association; the Purdue cheerleaders; and Purdue Pete.

The Discover Purdue event and pep rally are free. Tickets for the basketball games are $40, $30 and $15 and are available from the Athletic Ticket Office, (765) 494-3194 or at the RCA Dome ticket office on game day.
