November 8, 2002 Students to learn stats during Purdue-Ohio State football game Indianapolis Public Schools students involved in the Science Bound program, along with their parents and mentor teachers, will visit Purdue's West Lafayette campus on Saturday (11/9) to attend the Purdue-Ohio State game. But they won't just be cheering – they will be keeping track of statistics for the football players. The students will be greeted by Purdue President Martin C. Jischke when they arrive on campus at 9 a.m. Jischke will then speak with the students in the Class of 1950 Lecture Hall, Room 224. Before heading to Ross-Ade Stadium for the game, the students will be "schooled" in the art of taking football statistics by Dustin Allen, a senior majoring in organizational leadership and supervision. Each student will keep statistics on a designated player and will be seated in rows 55-63, section 13, so they can monitor their individual players. Students can be identified by their black Science Bound T-shirts. Science Bound, a partnership between Purdue and Indianapolis Public Schools, is a program that gives underrepresented students an opportunity to earn a full scholarship to Purdue to study for a career in engineering, science, math, technology or math/science education.
