Police arrest Purdue student on arson chargeWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Purdue University police today (Tuesday, 11/5) arrested a 21-year-old student following a Delaware County arson investigation.Jeremy Alan Baker, a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering technology from Modoc, Ind., was arrested at about 11 a.m. He was being held in Tippecanoe County Jail in lieu of a $40,000 bond. Baker, who is accused of setting fire to an abandoned house in Selma, Ind., on June 29, will remain in the Tippecanoe County Jail until he is returned to Delaware County in northeast Indiana, said Ron Fosnaugh, Purdue police captain of special services. Arson is a Class B felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
