Black Cultural Center to sponsor entrepreneur workshop

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Aspiring entrepreneurs are invited to attend a workshop sponsored by Purdue University's Black Cultural Center.

The workshop, entitled "Tomorrow's Entrepreneurs," will be from 7-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, in Room 127 of the Black Cultural Center, 1100 Third St., West Lafayette. Speakers will include Mamon Powers Jr. and Bill Mays. Powers is president of Power and Sons Construction Co. Inc. of Gary, Ind. and is a member of the Purdue Board of Trustees. Mays is president and CEO of Mays Chemical in Indianapolis.

Donna Hall, workshop facilitator, says she encourages all aspiring business owners to attend the workshop.

"The entrepreneur workshop provides valuable insight into owning and operating your own business," Hall says. "It will show attendees the challenges a business owner may encounter. How and what to research when planning a business venture also will be discussed."

The workshop is free and open to the public.
