USDA crop production report briefing available on the Web

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University specialists and Indiana agricultural officials will discuss the U.S. Department of Agriculture's August crop production report at the Indiana State Fair and online.

The crop report briefing begins at 8:30 a.m. on Monday (8/12). Producers, Extension educators, industry professionals and those media unavailable to attend can watch the event online.

The broadcast can be viewed on the Ag Answers Web site beginning at 8:30 a.m. Ag Answers is provided by Cooperative Extension Service specialists in Ohio and Indiana and focuses on crop and livestock production. The briefing also will be archived for viewing after the event.

The streaming broadcast can be viewed using Apple QuickTime version 5.02 or greater. The software may be downloaded at https://www.apple.com prior to the event.

Ralph Gann, Indiana state statistician, will present the USDA crop report to Indiana's Lt. Gov. and Commissioner of Agriculture Joe Kernan in the Our Land Pavilion on the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Purdue agricultural economist Chris Hurt will make comments about the report and the grain marketing outlook. Vic Lechtenberg, Purdue's dean of the School of Agriculture, will moderate the event.
