School funding to be discussed at next WBAA Town Forum

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – How Greater Lafayette school corporations are preparing for state budget cuts will be the focus of discussion when WBAA airs its ninth installment of "The WBAA Town Forum" at 7 p.m. Tuesday (5/14).

The show will be broadcast live from the board room of the Lafayette School Corporation administrative center at 2300 Cason St., Lafayette. The goal of this installment is to assess the potential impact of state budget cuts on education in Greater Lafayette.

Guests include Ed Eiler, superintendent of the Lafayette School Corporation; Stella Batagiannis, superintendent of the West Lafayette School Corporation; and Richard Wood, superintendent of the Tippecanoe School Corporation.

David Bunte, WBAA program director, says school corporation administrators may have to make some critical choices in the months ahead.

"As the state Legislature sits down in special session to resolve budget issues, school corporations have already been considering what sacrifices may have to be made in the future while they try to assure quality education for area students," Bunte says.

Listeners can phone in comments and questions at (765) 496-1999 or toll-free at (866) 922-2101 if they live outside the local calling area. The program can be heard at 101.3 FM and on AM 920. WBAA also can be heard on the Web at https://www.wbaa.org.
