Faculty and staff honors

– Gerold Neudeck, a professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has won a teaching award from the Semiconductor Research Corporation, an organization that links member companies with top university researchers. Neudeck and Rob Rutenbar, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University, were presented with the SRC's 2001 Aristotle Awards in March. Rutenbar and Neudeck joined a group of distinguished professors who have received the Aristotle Award since 1996. The award recognizes outstanding teachers among the SRC-sponsored faculty. The award is based on innovation in student advising, provision of learning experiences for students through the research projects, creation of an environment that encourages development in leadership skills, and student exposure to and interaction with industry.

Akridge was recognized as the director of the Executive MBA in Food and Agribusiness program, a credit-granting distance learning activity. Kirkpatrick was selected for her work with the Gestational Age Assessment and APGAR Scoring CD, and noncredit-granting distance activity. Both professors were recognized at the 2002 University Honors Convocation.
