'Dance for Non-Dancers' to be held at Purdue University

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue Repertory Dance Company is sponsoring a "Dance for Non-Dancers" workshop at noon Wednesday (4/17) in Stewart Center, Room 302.

The class is being held in conjunction with the company's Spring Dance Works Concert at 8 p.m. April 26-27 in Loeb Playhouse. During the 45-minute workshop, participants will get to try some simple dance steps, possibly some that they can later see performed on stage during the concert. The workshop is free and open to the public.

Nancy Costlow, Purdue Repertory Dance Company president, says the class is a good way to spend the lunch hour, even if they have never danced a step in their life.

"No previous dance experience is required," Costlow says. "Just bring some comfortable clothing and shoes."

Tickets for the concert are $9.50 for students, $10.50 for the general public and $5.50 for children under age 12. Tickets are available by calling (765) 494-3933.

CONTACT: Dance division faculty members Sally Wallace, (765) 494-5993, or Holly Jaycox, (765) 567-2265 ext.101.
