Purdue residence hall holds yard sale for local charity

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue students who live in Meredith Hall, 4259 Intramural Drive, will sponsor a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (4/13) on their front lawn.

Proceeds from the sale, called "My Trash, Your Treasure," will benefit the Lafayette Women's Shelter. Angela Peete, Meredith Hall Freshman Council president, says a variety of items will be on hand for bargain hunters.

"In the past, we have had such items as clothes, accessories, small furniture, appliances and games," Peete says. "The donations are starting to pour in since we are accepting them from residents and the community. We are really excited about continuing this event."

Last year's sale generated more than $500 for the shelter.
