University television system to experience brief outage Saturday

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue University Residences Television Antenna System (URTAS) will experience a brief outage Saturday morning (4/6) as equipment is moved to a new location.

The outage will begin at 1 a.m. Most channels should be back on the air by 8 a.m., with the remainder returning during the day Saturday, said Jay Mermoud, manager of URTAS and Boiler Television. Mermoud said Ross-Ade Stadium renovation work made it necessary to move hardware to a new facility.

"We regret the inconvenience, but we anticipate that everything will go smoothly," he said.

The 36-network URTAS system serves campus residence halls, the Purdue Memorial Union and many of the university's academic departments.
