Dairy conference highlights nutrition and animal health

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Dairy nutritional programs and research will be the focus for the 2002 Tri-State Dairy Nutrition Conference April 16-17.

The first day of the conference will focus on nutrition and animal health, while the emphasis on the second day will be formulating and mixing feed rations and feeding program management. University specialists and feed and animal health industry scientists will give presentations on these topics. There also will be a trade show featuring industry exhibits.

The conference will be in Fort Wayne, Ind., at the Grand Wayne Convention Center. The cost is $125 per person and includes meals and conference proceedings. Registration begins at noon and the first presentation starts at 1 p.m. Conference sponsors are Purdue, Ohio State and Michigan State universities.

Lodging is available at the Fort Wayne Holiday Inn located downtown. For reservations, call (260) 422-5511 and ask for the Tri-State Dairy Nutrition Conference rate of $85.

Prior to the conference, there will be a dairy management symposium. John Fetrow, University of Minnesota, and Steve Eicker, Valley Ag Software, will speak about the financial aspect of dairy nutrition.
