President Jischke to discuss Purdue Research Park on radio show

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University President Martin C. Jischke will discuss the Purdue Research Park from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6., during his live call-in radio show on WBAA's "AM920 Magazine."

Jischke will talk about how 16 new businesses were attracted to the park this past year. He also will address the park's incubator facilities and how they nurture fledgling businesses until they are strong enough to develop independently. Jischke will speak more broadly on Purdue's efforts to develop the high-tech and knowledge-based economy of Indiana, including plans to create enterprises modeled after the research park in communities throughout the state.

Listeners will have the opportunity to ask questions during the show. Local listeners can call (765) 496-1999. Listeners outside the local calling area can call toll-free at (866) 922-2101.

WBAA manager Dan Skinner says he hopes business- and technology-minded individuals will take advantage of the opportunity to speak directly with the president.

"With the research park, Purdue has put itself in a great position to provide a significant boost to Indiana's economy," Skinner says. "This is an opportunity for listeners to talk directly to President Jischke about what the research park has to offer and what designs Purdue has for it in the future."

The station's AM signal reaches approximately two-thirds of Indiana and may be heard globally via the station's Web site.
