Nominations due Feb. 11 for disability, diversity Focus Awards

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Nominations for Purdue University's 2002 Focus Awards honoring those who advance disability accessibility and diversity on campus, are being accepted and must be submitted by Feb. 11, 2002.

The awards are given annually to individuals affiliated with Purdue who have advanced the university's commitment to improving disability accessibility and diversity. Purdue affiliation includes current students, faculty, staff, alumni and retirees.

Three Focus Awards will be given at the Disability Awareness Month reception at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, in the East Faculty Lounge of the Purdue Memorial Union.

Nominations may be submitted to Gina Kerr, Affirmative Action Office, American Railway Building. Nomination forms are available at the Affirmative Action Office, Adaptive Programs in Student Services Annex-One, Human Resource Services in Freehafer Hall, or the Office of the Dean of Students in Schleman Hall, Room 207.

Nominations may be submitted without the form and will also be accepted via e-mail addressed to gkerr@purdue.edu. All submissions should include the name and contact information for both the nominee and the nominator, and a brief statement as to how the nominee meets the evaluation criteria. Also include the nominee's affiliation with Purdue University.
