Purdue Theatre holds community auditions for "Our Town"

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.–Community members are invited to audition for Purdue Theatre’s mainstage production of "Our Town" at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 19, in the Experimental Theatre, Stewart Center.

Richard Sullivan Lee, associate professor of theatre, directs the Thornton Wilder classic. Rehearsals begin Monday, February 25 and performances are April 10-21.

Children’s roles include two boys, ages 8-12 and one girl, age 8-12.

A variety of adult roles also will be cast, including choir members. Actors who would like to audition for a specific role should be prepared to read a scene that includes the character.

For the audition, actors will perform one monologue, 60-90 seconds in length and will sing one verse of "Amazing Grace." The monologue may be performed with script in hand.
