Purdue University Press has published a book co-edited by College of Education faculty members Janet Alsup and Christy Wessel-Powell. “First Opinions, Second Reactions: A Collection of Innovative Online Reviews of Literature for Children and Young Adults” features selected pieces from the journal First Opinions, Second Reactions, which reviews children’s and young adult books.
Philosophy professor and department head Christopher Yeomans has been selected as Purdue’s next Justin S. Morrill Dean of the College of Liberal Arts. Yeomans, head of Purdue’s Department of Philosophy since 2017 and a faculty member since 2009, succeeds David Reingold, who became chancellor of Indiana University in June. Yeomans’ appointment will take effect today (Dec. 8).
The No. 3-seeded Purdue volleyball team took down No. 6 seed Baylor, 25-16, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20 in the second round of the NCAA tournament, punching their ticket to the third straight Sweet 16 appearance and sixth in the last seven years. The Boilermakers will travel to Pittsburgh to take on the No. 2-seeded SMU Mustangs on Thursday (Dec. 11) at approximately 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
