Blaire, a child with Rett syndrome, gained a new sense of independence (and a new set of wheels!) thanks to a group of Purdue engineering students. Working with an organization called GoBabyGo, students designed and built a custom power-wheel car that put a fun twist on physical therapy.
Hospitality and tourism professor Xinran Lehto has co-authored a visionary new book that reimagines the role of hotels as catalysts for innovation, environmental stewardship, community connection and personal transformation — for guests, employees and local residents alike. “Transformative Hotels of the Future” challenges hoteliers, students and scholars to rethink what hotels can and should become.
From their first days on campus as freshmen to their final semester as seniors, Purdue students often need someone they can lean on for insight, support and guidance. And for many, that person is Margie Jones. Her role as a steadfast advocate and guiding light for students, alumni and staff alike was recently recognized by the Management and Professional Staff Advisory Committee, which presented her with the 2025 MaPSAC Excellence Award during a June ceremony.
Indiana Gov. Mike Braun has reappointed three current members, on three-year terms, to the Purdue University Board of Trustees and appointed the next student trustee on the standard two-year term for student trustees. Lawrence “Sonny” Beck, Malcolm DeKryger and Shawn Taylor were reappointed, and Reagan Koester will serve as the student trustee.
