Dongyan Xu, the Samuel D. Conte Professor of Computer Science in the College of Science and director of the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security, has been chosen to receive the 2024 Arden L. Bement Jr. Award. The award is Purdue’s most prestigious recognition for contributions in pure and applied science and engineering.

Recent Purdue graduate Vahidullah “Vahid” Tac, who completed his doctorate researching the data-driven modeling of biological materials, has won a prestigious Schmidt Science fellowship to conduct concussion research at Stanford University. Fellow Boilermaker Dylan Holden, a Schmidt finalist finishing his PhD in analytical chemistry, has accepted a prominent postdoc position at Harvard University.
