Using sun shadows and simulations to combat snowy roads
Treating roads for ice and snow can burden the budget and environment. Yaguang Zhang, clinical assistant professor of agricultural and biological engineering and agricultural sciences education and communication, created a map of sun shadows using lidar technology that the Indiana Department of Transportation uses to more efficiently treat roads for winter conditions.

Majid Kazemian, associate professor of biochemistry in the College of Agriculture and computer science in the College of Science, will present “Drug Discovery: From In Silico Insights to In Vivo Validation” from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Westwood, the Purdue president’s residence.
