Movable Dream Hire focused on improving human capital through STEM integration
The Mitch Daniels School of Business welcomes dream hire Gwendolyn Lee, a leading researcher of the transformative impact of machine learning and artificial intelligence. Lee will join Purdue in June 2025 as part of the university’s Movable Dream Hires program. The talent-based program is designed to attract high-performing, top-caliber faculty to Purdue even when the topic-based openings in a given year do not align with the movable talent.

Trustees approve winter recess for 2025
At the recommendation of President Mung Chiang, the Purdue University Board of Trustees approved the addition of a four-day winter recess on Dec. 26 and Dec. 29-31 for faculty and staff on the main (West Lafayette and Indianapolis), Fort Wayne and Northwest campuses. The four days are in addition to approved university holidays on Dec. 24 and 25 and Jan. 1, 2026. Additionally, the board approved moving the President’s Designated Holiday from Dec. 23 to Jan. 2.
