2024 Boilermaker Year in Review
Purdue University broke new records in almost all dimensions of student admissions and success, research and innovation, finance and philanthropy, infrastructure and partnerships, rankings and visibility in fiscal year 2024 that concluded in June. Then the second half of 2024 saw the opening of the first urban expansion of Purdue’s main campus, growth of the Daniels School of Business, major wins in Purdue Computes research and industry partnership, and the launch of the One Health initiative. Here are a couple of memorable Boilermaker moments from each month of 2024. Happy New Year, and Boiler Up!

SK hynix receives $458 million of CHIPS Incentives Award for AI semiconductor facility and R&D center at Purdue Research Park
Purdue’s historic partnership with SK hynix received the definitive award from the CHIPS and Science Act to fund SK hynix’s semiconductor advanced packaging plant for artificial intelligence products and an R&D center in West Lafayette. The U.S. Department of Commerce on Dec. 19 announced up to $458 million in direct funding to bolster the SK hynix investment. The award comes from the CHIPS Incentives Program’s funding for commercial facilities.
