Purdue alumnus and U.S. Rep. Jim Baird of Indiana’s 4th Congressional District, which includes the city of West Lafayette, will deliver the address at Purdue’s three Winter 2024 Commencement ceremonies Dec. 15. The winter 2024 graduating class will include 2,345 undergraduates, 1,241 graduate students, 15 students from professional programs and 50 students from Purdue Polytechnic Institute’s statewide programs. The ceremonies mark the first commencement for students graduating from Purdue’s new urban campus expansion in Indianapolis.

Purdue announced today (Nov. 25) the appointment of Luna Lu, the Reilly Professor in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering, as vice president of the Office of Industry Partnerships. Purdue Dining & Culinary hosted its popular Thanksgiving dinner Thursday (Nov. 21) at dining courts across campus. The dining courts invited students to enjoy a celebration of traditional Thanksgiving foods, including 5,200 pounds of turkey, 2,150 pounds of ham, 225 gallons of gravy, 500 gallons of mashed potatoes, 13,500 rolls, 450 gallons of cider and 1,200 pies.
