The Purdue Policy Research Institute’s Space Policy Symposium, held Oct. 30-31, drew authorities from the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Space Force, industry leaders, and global technology and policy researchers from as far away as Iceland.
When they approach a Piper Archer aircraft at Purdue University Airport, student pilots and maintenance personnel know with certainty that the engine and propeller are turned off thanks to a safety device created by Purdue Polytechnic Institute experts.
At a ceremony Wednesday (Nov. 13), Purdue honored 275 researchers with the university’s prestigious Seed for Success Acorn Awards. The event is an annual recognition of Purdue principal investigators and co-investigators who obtain external research funding of $1 million or more for a single proposal. This year’s award recipients are involved in 116 research projects and include 97 first-time winners of the Seed for Success Acorn Award.
The Purdue Memorial Union will soon be full of holiday spirit as this year’s Christmas tree makes its way into the Great Hall on Friday (Nov. 22). The tree lighting ceremony will take place at 5:30-8 p.m. Nov. 25. The community is invited to enjoy musical performances and light refreshments during the event.
