Computing for contentment: Purdue scientist uses AI to model fairness and maximize the benefits of donated food
Computer scientist Alex Psomas is working with AI algorithms to automate the distribution of food to food banks, making the process fairer, more ethical and far more efficient. Psomas is partnering with the Indy Hunger Network to make automatic allocations for food donations, saving staff from calling around to food banks and drivers from idling while waiting to be given food destinations.
