Purdue receives grant funding in all three areas of NSF semiconductor research program
The National Science Foundation and several corporate partners are relying on Purdue researchers to improve semiconductor performance and energy efficiency with new research grants. Purdue is the only university chosen by the review panels and NSF to lead research in each of three topic areas and will receive more than $5 million.

Purdue, Bayer announce partnership to address regenerative agriculture on global scale
On Thursday (Sept. 19), Purdue and Bayer announced the creation of the Coalition for Sustainable and Regenerative Agriculture, a public-private partnership designed to help improve the soil health of farmland while also increasing food production for a growing population. The coalition’s mission is to generate robust, real-world data in support of regenerative agriculture practices to help farmers restore soil health and biomass, increase biodiversity, and improve the resiliency of ecosystems over time.

Purdue student Charlotte Yeung makes global impact as Boren Scholar
The Boren Scholarships are competitive awards that give undergraduate students the chance to study languages critical to U.S. national security and the culture of world regions often unavailable to the typical student who chooses to study abroad. Charlotte Yeung, a political science student in the College of Liberal Arts, is a Boren Scholar who studied the humanitarian and environmental effects of weaponry while at Waseda University in Japan.

Purdue launches new online engineering doctorate
Purdue’s highly ranked College of Engineering is offering its first 100% online doctoral degree in a highly customizable program designed for professionals who want to enhance their careers while gaining skills with practical application in their current jobs. The new online Doctor of Engineering program from Purdue features coursework on research methodology and advanced mathematics and statistics in addition to hundreds of engineering and other courses, all culminating in a research project.
