Staff Excellence: Institutional Data Analytics + Assessment
Purdue University runs on data. It’s the force that enables decision-making, guides assessment and evaluation, and provides the basis for continuous improvement. And a huge chunk of it is collected, organized and distributed by the university’s Institutional Data Analytics + Assessment (IDA+A) team. Housed within the Office of the Provost, IDA+A is responsible for transforming institutional data into rich bodies of strategic intelligence that are accessible, well defined and useful to university leaders and employees.

New Purdue energetics faculty member uses lasers to capture high-speed particles in motion
The Purdue Energetics Research Center recently recruited a new faculty member who uses lasers and high-speed imaging diagnostics to capture and measure energetic materials — explosives, propellants and pyrotechnics — as they move and transform, providing the crucial insights needed to develop efficient, next-generation fuels and propulsion systems. Daniel Guildenbecher, associate professor of mechanical engineering, studies the behavior and evolution of energetic particles as they move and collide with each other.

Bringing Our Best: Samuel Chinn
Thanks so much to Sam for fixing the broken RO water line in our lab. This was a huge help to us and something we really needed for our experiments. Sam did a great job explaining what the problem was, and he even fixed the leaky faucet while he was here. Thanks, from our whole lab! — Vikki Weake (Biochemistry)
