Research from Purdue in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health reveals that a cancer drug dismissed by traditional testing methods may be effective in treating bladder cancer, thanks to a new computational tool. Called the Pathway Ensemble Tool, it accurately identifies the most important biological pathways disrupted in cancer and other complex diseases, enabling precise treatment strategies.
The Office of Research is seeking nominations for Purdue’s three most prestigious annual research awards. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 3. Each year Purdue bestows three awards of distinction to West Lafayette and Indianapolis faculty members with recent extraordinary research, scholarly or creative contributions in their respective field.
Purdue President Mung Chiang presented men's basketball head coach Matt Painter with the Order of the Griffin, which recognizes outstanding service to Purdue by men and women whose commitment has gone beyond the call of duty and greatly benefited the university.
Purdue partnered with Eli Lilly and Company for the ninth annual Lilly Day at Purdue on Aug. 28. The daylong event took place at Memorial Mall and Stewart Center. Students had the opportunity to have Lilly employees review their résumés, network with company leadership and meet with representatives from Lilly’s diversity resource groups. Purdue President Mung Chiang participated in a fireside chat with Dave Ricks, CEO of Eli Lilly and Company.
Purdue alumna Julie Dussliere, a longtime administrator with the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), is also overseeing Team USA at the 2024 Paris Games. In two decades at the USOPC, Dussliere has played a direct role in the tremendous growth of international Paralympic competition in athletic performance, participation and visibility. On Aug. 26, Dussliere was named president and chief executive officer of the Purdue for Life Foundation.
