Since the creation of Purdue Innovates in 2023, the comprehensive system has worked to streamline access and strengthen support to technology commercialization and startup support resources. The push to provide top-tier resources for entrepreneurial activities in Indiana is paying off. In fiscal year 2024 Purdue once again reached new entrepreneurial milestones, shattering records set just last year.
Growing up, Sam Peana loved to build things. Graduating this spring with his PhD from Purdue in electrical engineering, Peana has received several scholarships, fellowships and awards during his young career. He won the College of Engineering’s 2024 Outstanding Research Award. And this spring, he was awarded a three-year Truman Fellowship from Sandia National Laboratories to continue his research and postdoctoral studies, beginning this October, at the U.S. Department of Energy facility in New Mexico.
