The state of Purdue University’s metrics in the past 12 months broke records in almost all dimensions. 
Purdue trustees approve negotiated CityBus contract agreement for 2024-25 academic year
Purdue University trustees reviewed and approved the one-year contract agreement negotiated by Purdue and CityBus to continue providing on- and off-campus transportation services. CityBus announced in April that Purdue-affiliated riders would have to pay $99 per semester for off-campus bus services. Under the new agreement, Purdue will cover $74 of the semester pass, and members of the Purdue community will pay a subsidized rate of $25 to access off-campus routes.
Purdue trustees approve 2025 health plans with modest employee premium increase
With an emphasis on the sustainability of world-class health plans and flexibility for employees, the Purdue University Board of Trustees approved 2025 health plans, which will have a modest employee premium increase. The plans for 2025 align with the university’s strategic approach to health care and the Healthy Boiler Wellness Program, and they were designed as part of Purdue’s ongoing goal of improving population health.
Purdue trustees approve 10-year capital plan, including 2 projects that will go to state lawmakers in upcoming 2025-27 capital request
Purdue University trustees reviewed and approved the university’s 10-year capital plan, an evolving blueprint that will guide the upcoming 2025-27 biennial legislative capital request it submits to the state. Projects included in the request are the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Research Building (Purdue West Lafayette) and Student Union and Library Renovation Phase 1/Porter Demolition (Purdue Northwest).
Purdue trustees approve facility projects, apartment leases
Purdue University trustees today gave approval to plan, finance, construct and award construction contracts for renovations to the Mathematical Sciences Building Data Center and the Biochemistry Building Office of the State Chemist Lab, both on the West Lafayette campus.
Purdue trustees ratify faculty positions, approve resolutions of appreciation
The Purdue University Board of Trustees ratified faculty appointments and approved resolutions of appreciation. The newly ratified faculty appointments are David Bahr as the Blacutt-Underwood Head of Materials Engineering; Kevin Otto as the Dane A. Miller Head of Biomedical Engineering; Zhihong Chen as the Reilly Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering; Shirley Dyke as the Donald A. and Patricia A. Coates Professor of Innovation in Mechanical Engineering; Elisa Bertino as the Samuel Conte Distinguished Professor in Computer Science; and Catherine (Cammie) McBride as Distinguished Professor of Human Development and Family Science.
President Chiang’s report to trustees
In his report to the Board of Trustees, President Mung Chiang acknowledged faculty who received major awards from April through June and thanked friends of the university for their recent generous contributions. He also reviewed fiscal year 2024 metrics, which broke records in almost all dimensions.
Pyrak-Nolte reports on the role of fractures in energy resources
In her presentation to the Purdue Board of Trustees, Laura Pyrak-Nolte, Distinguished Professor of Physics and Astronomy and member of the National Academy of Engineering, provided an overview of her research on the role fractures play in subsurface engineering applications related to energy resources. Pyrak-Nolte highlighted the foundational science that underpins optimized and sustained uses of the Earth’s natural and industrial resources.
Purdue Global leadership presents FY24 highlights to board
During the Purdue Global Board of Trustees meeting, Chancellor Frank Dooley reported on the student census for fiscal year 2024, which averaged 35,275. Dooley said the 2.7% growth compared to FY23 was driven by improved start rate and retention. The more than 12,000 graduates in FY24 is a 3% increase over the previous fiscal year. Dooley provided FY24 highlights, including approval from the California State Bar for Purdue Global Law School to provide a full-time online JD program, a favorable Higher Learning Commission visit, numerous awards, strategic partnership initiatives and social media metrics. The board also approved the election of officers and the ratification of vice presidents and academic officers.
