Purdue enters 3 agreements with European partners to accelerate research and education
Purdue University has signed three memoranda of understanding with premier European research institutions to deepen existing ties and accelerate research and educational opportunities. Purdue President Mung Chiang signed the strategic agreements with the University of Piraeus and the Technical University of Crete in Greece, and King’s College London.

Researchers examine nanotechnological methods for improving agriculture
Nanoscale particles could potentially help address agricultural and environmental sustainability issues like rising food demand, increasing greenhouse gas emissions generated by agricultural activities, climbing costs of agrochemicals, reducing crop yields induced by climate change, and degrading soil quality. A class of nanoscale particles called “nanocarriers” could make crop agriculture more sustainable and resilient to climate change, according to a group of specialists that includes Kurt Ristroph, assistant professor of agricultural and biological engineering at Purdue University.

Chang to receive Messick award for ‘significant, enduring contributions to quantitative research’
Hua Hua Chang, Charles R. Hicks Professor in Educational Psychology, is the 2024 recipient of the highly prestigious Samuel J. Messick Distinguished Scientific Contributions Award from the American Psychological Association Division 5. The Messick award is bestowed annually to acknowledge individuals who have made significant and enduring contributions to scientific research in quantitative research methods.

Commencement ceremonies on Purdue University’s West Lafayette campus are a sight to behold — three times each year — largely thanks to the Office of the Registrar staff members who spend countless hours planning and coordinating a unique, personal experience that college graduates deserve. Over the past 10 years, this group has helped plan 99 commencement ceremonies celebrating the giant leaps of nearly 100,000 students.
