Purdue University has once again earned praise as one of the world’s best academic institutions. In the latest 2025 QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World University Rankings, released Tuesday (June 4), Purdue came in No. 89 globally, a gain of 10 spots from last year. Purdue was also named the No. 8 U.S. public university, an improvement of two spots from last year. Since QS started its independent global ranking, this is the highest Purdue has been ranked among U.S. public universities.

Purdue University, Indiana University and the University of Notre Dame have formalized a joint research effort to address the nation’s most critical defense challenges. To celebrate the conclusion of the 1869 Tree Planting Master Plan, Purdue will hold a ceremonial event June 11 from 1:30-2 p.m. in front of the Wilmeth Active Learning Center. In addition to meeting the tree planting goal, Purdue has received the Tree Campus USA Award for the 15th consecutive year. The award recognizes college campuses committed to fostering a healthy environment for trees and green space.
