Purdue joins Lilly at LEAP in pharmaceutical training facility
Purdue University is continuing its collaboration with Eli Lilly and Company as the Indianapolis-based pharmaceutical company’s official education partner at Indiana’s LEAP Research and Innovation District. Lilly announced plans to invest another $5.3 billion in its brand-new Boone County manufacturing complex on Friday (May 24), bringing the total investment to $9 billion.

Purdue community celebrates Spring Fling
Several thousand Purdue faculty, staff, graduate student staff and retirees gathered Thursday (May 23) at and around Memorial Mall to celebrate Spring Fling, the university’s annual employee appreciation event. Activities included karaoke, yard games, a classic vehicle show, the 3-mile fitness walk, a golf outing and bingo.

Jay Gephart
Purdue ‘All-American’ Marching Band director to step down following fall 2024 season
Jay Gephart, the Al G. Wright Chair of Purdue Bands & Orchestras, has announced that the fall 2024 semester will be his last as the fifth director of the Purdue “All-American” Marching Band. He will step down from the marching band position following the band’s final performance in 2024. Gephart will continue to chair the Bands and Orchestras department, direct the Purdue University Wind Ensemble and conduct other indoor ensembles.
