Purdue University celebrates record-breaking participation on Purdue Day of Giving
A record number of gifts for Purdue Day of Giving came in from Boilermakers around the world who rallied together for Purdue University on Wednesday (April 24). Throughout the 24-hour online, social media-driven fundraising effort, a historic 32,054 gifts brought in $76.5 million for the university — bringing Purdue Day of Giving’s cumulative total since its launch in 2014 to $497 million.

Purdue University President and Roscoe H. George Distinguished Professor Mung Chiang on Wednesday (April 24) was elected a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Chiang is elected to the Class of Mathematical and Physical Sciences in the Area of Engineering and Technology.

Purdue Global to celebrate accomplishments of more than 1,500 graduates at May commencement
Purdue Global, Purdue’s online university for working adults, will host commencement ceremonies for 1,100 in-person graduates May 4 on Purdue’s campus. More than 400 graduates will participate in virtual ceremonies. Three ceremonies are scheduled to celebrate the graduates at Elliott Hall of Music in West Lafayette.

Bell tower
Staff memorial ceremony to be prerecorded, viewable Friday
Purdue’s West Lafayette campus will honor eight staff members who passed away during 2023 in a ceremony that will be prerecorded and made viewable online Friday (April 26). The Purdue Bell Tower chimes will ring eight times at 3:15 p.m. Anyone who would like to gather at the bell tower in respect of those commemorated is welcome. The rain location will be in the Purdue Memorial Union’s East Main Lounge.
