Preeti Sivasankar
Preeti Sivasankar appointed vice president for research innovation
Preeti Sivasankar has been appointed vice president for research innovation and will head the division of Strategic Interdisciplinary Research in the Office of Research, effective May 1. Sivasankar joined Purdue as an assistant professor in 2005 and was promoted to professor in 2014. She has led the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences since 2019, having served in an interim capacity in 2018.

Online Master of Science in biomedical engineering opens door to new career for program’s first graduate
Several years after earning her undergraduate engineering degree, Hannah Taggart felt the need to refresh her knowledge and skills. Purdue’s online Master of Science in biomedical engineering gave her that opportunity and focused Taggart on a new career in medical devices and regulatory affairs.

Philip Low to be honored by American Lung Association for cancer-fighting invention
The American Lung Association in Indiana will honor Purdue researcher Philip Low on April 13 at its annual gala in Indianapolis for his invention of CYTALUX, which helps in the fight against lung cancer. Low, Purdue’s Presidential Scholar for Drug Discovery and the Ralph C. Corley Distinguished Professor of Chemistry in the College of Science, developed CYTALUX, an FDA-approved fluorescent marker that Illuminates lung cancer cells during surgery.
