Purdue Research Foundation received 198 patents from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office during the 2023 calendar year, placing it sixth internationally and in the top five for U.S. universities for the third year in a row.
Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., who has served as president of the University of Notre Dame for nearly two decades, will join Purdue President Mung Chiang for a fireside chat as part of the Presidential Lecture Series. The public event is at 7 p.m. Feb. 29 in Stewart Center’s Fowler Hall. While the lecture is free, a general admission ticket will be required.
Drawn to agricultural science and forestry as a youngster in his home country of Liberia, Emmanuel Cooper attended the University of Liberia. After graduation, he joined USAID’s Liberia Agribusiness Development Activity, then worked at Pure Beauty Farms in Miami. The experiences solidified an interest in weed science. And now, Cooper is pursuing a master’s degree at Purdue with plans to finish in August and either pursue a PhD or return to industry.
