Machine embroidery with customized designs and patterns can compromise the integrity of light-emitting textiles. A Purdue research team led by Chi Hwan Lee, associate professor of biomedical engineering and mechanical engineering, has overcome that obstacle by developing multicolor electroluminescent threads in blue, green and yellow for use with standard embroidery machines.

McCrosky Equine Sports Medicine Center and equine research programs in the College of Veterinary Medicine, will present “Galloping Towards Respiratory Health: Research in Equine Asthma and Performance” from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Westwood, the Purdue president’s residence.
