Archives and Special Collections marks American Archives Month with 'Griffin's Gold' exhibit

Purdue Libraries' Archives and Special Collections will showcase unusual treasures and old artifacts during a monthlong October exhibit titled Griffin's Gold.

The exhibit, which is free and open to the public, features Purdue documents, photographs, diaries, letters, and journals and rare books among the artifacts. More

University Residences expands recycling efforts

University Residences will recycle more than 400 tons of glass, plastic, aluminum, steel, grease and paper this year, about 25 percent of the University's total recycling volume.

More than 800 recycling bins are placed throughout the residence halls in central areas, on individual floors and at loading docks. Each dining court has a larger recycling trailer parked in the rear, as do all but one of the residences. More

Five Purdue students who have died since April 23 will be remembered on Oct. 15 during Golden Taps, one of the University's most solemn traditions. More

Appointments, promotions and honors

— George B. Adams III has been named associate director for programs at Purdue's Network for Computational Nanotechnology.
— David Denis, the Burton D. Morgan Chair of Private Enterprise at the Krannert School of Management, is one of eight new experts to join the Analysis Group, a provider of economic, financial and business expertise to law firms.
— Tina Parker has been named manager of Boiler Television.
— Robert Kail, professor of psychological sciences, has been named the editor of the Psychological Science journal for a five-year term.
— Todd Wetzel, director of Purdue Convocations, received the 2007 John Corey Award for Arts Leadership at the Bravo Breakfast for the Arts on Oct. 2.
