Multi-robot manufacturing of functional devices First Year Investigators Undergraduate Research Program 12-Month 2023 Closed Robotics, manufacturing, nanotechnology The use of stationary and mobile robots in additive manufacturing is being explored for both on-location building and off-site prefabrication of smart devices. Numerous studies have focused on multi-robot manufacturing systems that enable autonomous 3D printing with human oversight, real-time evaluation of printed shapes, and robot adaptation. This project aims to investigate the integration of multiple robots with printing heads for intelligent device manufacturing. The multi-robot system will be built to realize robotic teamwork for system fabrications. Wenzhuo Wu The students will execute the following tasks:
- Learn from the research literature.
- Develop the robotic control platform.
- Design and manufacture smart devices using the developed robotic platform.
- Characterize the electrical and mechanical properties of the smart devices.
Engineering majors in mechanical engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields are desirable. Self-motivated, fast-learning students with good communication will be strongly considered. 2 6 (estimated)
