Peer mentors create an engaging and supportive environment by sharing successes and challenges as new researchers and Boilermakers. Supervisor James J Sadler Mentor James J Sadler Type of work required Peer mentors are part of the mentorship team for the first-year student alongside an expert faculty or staff research mentor. Peer mentors will lead group and individual reflection activities to ensure their transition from a new student to a student researcher is as effective as possible. Peer mentors will attend a training course during the spring semester and then attend the first-year students' online research support class during the fall semester as a teaching assistant - similar to a supplemental instructor.
