A systematic review of humanities pedagogy and application in STEM John Martinson Honors College Research Programs Spring 2025 Accepted Social sciences methodology, systematic review, humanities pedagogy This project aims to conduct a large-scale review of pedagogical approaches applied in humanities disciplines. We will systematically do a search of existing research on this topic, code the existing research, and analyze that data to respond to our research questions. The main research question is: What pedagogical approaches and philosophies are adopted in humanities disciplines in higher education? The research assistants will form part of an interdisciplinary research group with Professors Lori Czerwionka (Spanish, Linguistics), Kirsten Davis (Engineering Education), Jerilyn Tinio (Libraries), and graduate students as well. Lori A Czerwionka Lori A Czerwionka Research assistants will review and code academic articles, organize data, and support data analysis to understand the types of pedagogical approaches found in the prior literature.

3-9 hours/week could be arranged; Departmental credit is possible.

GPA of 3.4 or above, strong organizational skills, ability to skim text to achieve accurate understanding, ability or interest in data analysis, some familiarity with academic writing is a plus, any major is acceptable. 0 3 (estimated)
