SuccessFactors Training Overview

The following reflects the training timeline for SuccessFactors.

Training Timeframe

Process and Audience

Early-November

Business Management – Employee Data Changes

  • Business office staff completing ‘actions’ or employee data changes, such as change in FTE or change in pay, will receive an online course to view. Quick Reference Guides (QRG) will also be accessible.
  • Open labs to walk through data changes and ask questions are also scheduled. It is important the online course be completed prior to attending an open lab. Open labs are scheduled in November and December. 

Business Management – Terminations/Quota Payout and Mass Changes or Uploads

  • Online course, Quick Reference Guides (QRG) and Work Instruction Videos (WIV) will be accessible for those in the business office completing terminations in the system.
  • Online course, Quick Reference Guides (QRG) and Work Instruction Videos (WIV) will be accessible for those who will complete uploads for mass changes, such as moving grads from TA to RA. 

Business Management and Central Office Staff - Payroll

  • Those involved with payroll processes will be invited to a showcase introducing changes and functionality in SuccessFactors. Quick Reference Guides (QRG) will also be available.

Mid-November

Department Support / Supervisors – Position Creation

  • Online course, Quick Reference Guides (QRG) will also will be available.

Late-November / Early-December

All Employees – Employee Self-Service/Time-Off/Timesheets

  • Online course introducing SuccessFactors Navigation. Quick Reference Guides (QRG) are also available.
  • Benefits-eligible employees will receive training materials to learn how to request time-off.
  • All non-exempt employees will receive information and training materials on timesheets and how to record time, according to their assigned time profile.

Supervisors, Department Support and Business Office Staff – Recruitment

  • Quick Reference Guides (QRG) and Work Instruction Video (WIV) will be accessible for all hiring managers to review, when needed.
  • Instructor-led courses will be offered for Department Recruiters and Office of Intuitional Equity (OIE). Hiring managers for staff or student positions will have options to attend instructor-led sessions.

Supervisors and Department Support– Onboarding

Those assigned the onboarding coordinator role will also receive Quick Reference Guides (QRG) and Work Instruction Videos (WIV) to learn how to complete the onboarding tasks, once the new employee is hired

January/February 2019

Supervisor and Staff Employees - Performance Appraisals (Goals and Performance Management)

  • Showcases, Quick Reference Guides (QRG) and Work Instruction Videos (WIV) will be available for supervisor and employee.

Business Management and Compensation Manager (role) - Merit and Compensation Processes

  • An online course will be available for those with the Compensation Manager role.
  • Quick Reference Guides (QRG) and Work Instruction Video (WIV) will be available for those involved with the merit process.
