Financial Reporting

The updated financial structure and SAP upgrade to SAP S/4 HANA impacts reporting as it produces consistent, transparent, standardized reporting campus-wide.  Additionally beneficial, existing standard reports will allow for historical reporting, updated reports will include expanded filtering options and new reports will allow financial units to a see a comprehensive picture of faculty-held accounts.

The below outlines information related to schedules, report views and report availability.

Schedules in Mid-July

The BICC will initiate the disabling of schedules (which include scheduled reports, report views and jobs) of finance reports:

Report Views

Current user-specific Report Views may break due to account structure changes and/or modifying the standard folder structure to accommodate new, converted, and archived reports. Users will be able to recreate their desired Report Views as standard reports are released.

Report Availability July – August

Late July

New Reports:
  • AIMS (Account Information Management System)

The existing (GM) Aims (faculty and business office views) will be updated to include the faculty project structure. The structure will include both grants and non-grant accounts assigned to faculty. A summary of accounts as well as the ability to dive deeper into individual accounts will be available.

  • Faculty Allocation Cognos Report

A new report for financial units to see a comprehensive picture of their faculty held accounts including budget/plans, expenses, and balances.  Layouts provide summary level views as well as detail views by each faculty member.

Existing Boiler Insight Standard Reports:

These are existing standard reports that were updated to reflect the new account structure. The prompt pages on many of these reports were expanded to allow for more filtering options. New reports views are also available on several reports.

New Report:

Parent Funded Program Report

A new report for financial units to see a comprehensive picture of their parent funded program accounts and their child funded programs (including startup). The report includes plans, expenses, and balances. “Child” funded program activities are rolled up to the “Parent” operating account so departments can see their progress toward funding plans. Layouts provide summary and detail level views.
