Capital Projects

Examples of the redesigned processes – created during design phase based on feedback received – being built and tested with new SAP functionality include:

  • Portfolio planning
  • Request/Assessment/Approval
  • Project setup/planning
  • Project management/execution
  • Project monitoring/controlling
  • Portfolio monitoring/reporting

Both project team and subject matter experts within asset management and capital projects are directly involved with testing. They will test both SAP functionality and the redesigned business processes. Realistic capital project scenarios are considered test cases. Report writers and financial affairs also will eventually participate with testing.

Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will participate in the train-the-trainer approach. Although the majority of training is specific to asset management and capital project related departments, training will also be provided to those with departmental initiator or facility manager roles. Those roles were introduced at various leadership meetings in July.

Business and/or fiscal affairs-related report training will also be developed.
